Report gathered from the world of football indicates that former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho cried and prayed to God in the wake of watching Christian Eriksen breakdown following a heart failure while playing for Denmark at the ongoing Euro 2020.
Christian Eriksen,29, was given 13 minutes of CPR subsequent to falling not long before half-time against Finland on Saturday however was taken to a Copenhagen medical clinic in a steady condition. Among the individuals who watched the episode live on TV was Mourinho, who trained Eriksen for quite sometime at Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho in talking to talkSPORT had this to say;
”Today I cannot stop thinking about what happened yesterday, I think it’s a day to celebrate, not to be sad. Hopefully, football went in a direction where the organisation, the protocols the level of doctors, and the specialists, and I also believe God was looking at football in that moment. Everything together made Chirstian to be with us, to be with his family, to be alive.
He further added; It was much more important than football but at the same time I believe that it also showed the good values of football ”The love, the solidarity, family spirit”. It was not just about his family it was about the football family. Football bringing people together.
