Checks according to our source indicates that a 34-year-old man who was short by armed robbers on Wednesday June 9 at Pig farm has reportedly died.
The incident took place right at the Pig Farm roundabout. The victim is said to have had a back pack on his back of which the two robbers were pursuing him for it.
The unidentified man was shot in the belly by the robbers during a broad day robbery.
According to eyewitness who spoke with JoyNews reporter, the victim pleaded with the robbers, informing them that he had no valuables on him.
“I saw some motorbikes approaching. I heard sounds like gunshot but I thought they were from the motorbikes. The robbers tried to take the backpack from the man.
“He resisted, jumped from his motorbike and opened the bag. He told them he carried no valuables but they still shot him and took the backpack,” he recalled the horrifying moment.
After the gunshot, an Uber driver who saw him lying helpless rushed him to the 37 Military Hospital but unfortunately he died despite efforts by health personnel.
