Pupils Storm DR Congo Parliament Over Teacher’s Salary
Many students in Congo stormed the nation's Parliament calling on law makers to give teachers high salaries.
The angry students were heard chanting “we want to study” and “if we don’t study, we will take drugs” amidst waving branches.
According to the UN-owned Radio Okapi, a similar demonstration was witnessed at the town hall of the eastern town of Beni in North Kivu region.
This comes after teachers went on strike since October 4 demanding an increase in salary and a lower retirement age among many others.
