Momo Agents Discontinue Announced Increase In Charges

A directive has been given to Mobile Money agents to perform their services with their customers under their usual charges. This directive came from the office of the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) following a meeting it had with officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The meeting was held following the 10 percent tax that was imposed on cash-out service by GRA. The Mobile Money Agent Association announced an increase in charges which it said will be effective July 1, 2021.

The National Chairman of Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has called on all Momo agents in the country to close at 6pm to avoid robbery attacks. Some suspected gun men have attacked and shot dead a mobile money vendor at Okorase near Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The deceased, 36 known as Solomon Arhin is reported to be walking home with a friend when these suspected armed men attacked them but the friend was able to run off.
