A 45-year-old farmer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Asamankese Circuit court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams for defiling two siblings multiple times. Mr. Nenevi Freeman well known as Efo who was charged with defilement pleaded guilty to the charges. The victims are under 16 years of age which is contrary to section 101(2) of the criminal offenses Act 1960(Act). Some 14 persons have been arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl at Gomoa Adzintem. This comes after some Formed Police Unit (FPU) were deployed to the area as news of the incident broke out. According to a statement by the police some items such as two pump-action guns, two single-barrel guns, machetes, and other weapons were found on the suspects. The police have arrested three persons for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl at Assin Breku in the Central Region of Ghana.
