Twene Jonas, a Ghanaian content producer residing in the United States, has lashed out at Ghanaians for being overly trusting and the Wanderlust Ghana team for being fraudulent.
According to Jonas, anyone who claims to have journeyed from Accra to London by road is telling the truth because there is no such road network.
Jonas claimed that Africans are too deceptive since, despite using a boat at times along the way, the Wanderlust Ghana team claimed to have journeyed by road from Accra to London.
He also chastised Ghanaians for being overly trusting, comparing us to fishes (nam) for believing anybody could go from Accra to London by road.
Some netizens pointed out in the comments section that if he followed the journey, he would know that the Wanderlust team made it known that there are instances when they would need to take ferrys simply due to the nature of topography.
A crew of daring explorers from Ghana under the direction of Kwabena Peprah have travelled more than 10,000 km across the continent. According to sources, their excursion began in Accra, the capital of Ghana, and culminated in a trip across continents, passing through a number of African and European states.
Their journey began in Accra and continued via Ghanaian cities such as Aburi, Nsawam, Kumasi, and Sunyani before crossing into adjacent Cote d’Ivoire. They travelled through Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco before entering Europe on a Mediterranean ship through Spain. Their tour displayed Africa’s and Europe’s different terrains and climates.
The expedition not only demonstrated the team’s daring attitude, but it also attempted to generate cash for Ghana’s remote elementary schools. The explorers were inspired by stories of individuals going by road from Europe to African nations and decided to reverse the journey in order to get media attention and support for their charitable cause.
