Brukina Drink Contains Cancer-Causing Substance-Research Says

As per a concentrate by the University of Ghana’s Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, a few examples of “brukina,” as well as the millet and dairy milk used to make it, had unsuitable measures of aflatoxins, which, when polished off more than once, can prompt malignant growth.

For the review, ‘brukina’ tests were bought from ‘brukina’ makers month to month over a time of 7 months.

21 examples were gathered from each site, Nima and Ashaiman in Accra, to be tried.

In the wake of testing, the researchers found that 1 example from Ashaiman and 2 from Nima had elevated degrees of aflatoxin (AFB1) over as far as possible.

Twelve (12) dairy milk tests from Ashaiman and 10 from Nima had levels of aflatoxin (AFM1) over as far as possible.

A portion of the ‘brukina’ tests tried were debased with aflatoxin and all dosages of aflatoxins in total affect the gamble of malignant growth.

Essentially, aflatoxins (AFB1) were found in 2 millet tests from Ashiaman and 6 from Nima.

“Also, farmers and ‘brukina’ producers must be educated on good storage practices and monitored by the regulatory agents to protect the public from aflatoxin exposure and toxicity,” said Prof. Regina Appiah-Opong of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, a Toxicologist and the lead scientist.
