Award winning Investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has expressed his disappointment concerning the State of Nation’s Address (SONA) delivered by His Excellency President Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday.
Manasseh stated that,he wasn’t impressed at all by the President. He mentioned that, the State of Nation’s Address failed to meet his expectations, because, certain pressing issues in the country which requires serious attention, was not included and as a matter of fact wasn’t addressed.
According to Manasseh, the Akufo-Addo has disappointed Ghanaians who had massive confidence in him, before and after the 2016 elections.
Editor of The Fourth Estate stated that “if any State of the Nation Address meets my expectations, it isn’t what Mr. Akufo-Addo delivered. Because he has come to represent hopelessness in my view. I used to be one of those who cheered him most whenever he wanted to speak, but these days, I struggle to tolerate him when he’s speaking.”
He added that, “To put it in a better way, I find it difficult to listen to the President when he speaks. Because some of the things he said he will do and the things that gave some of us hope are things that we have not seen. It keeps getting worse.”
According to him, the President say’s one thing, and does the exact opposite of what he says.In his view, Ghanian politicians, are fond of leading on the youth with promises, only to disappoint them when they are voted into power.
