The price for sachet and bottled water has been reviewed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Association of Sachet and packaged water Producers (Naspawap) in consultation with stakeholders.
The association has said that the prices has been reviewed because of the rise in prices of materials for production such as fuel, vehicle spare parts, and packaging materials which are mainly imported into the country.
Reports indicates that the price review will take effect by Friday, 1st April 2022.
“the price reviews have been necessitated by the rising cost of inputs, such as fuel and packaging materials, which are mainly imported and produced from petroleum sources.”
It, however, cautioned that “there might be slight variations in prices across the regions due to haulage to remote and distant areas,” the association said.
The association further urged that 500ml bottled water be retailed at GHS2.00 and 750ml bottled water be retailed at GHS2.50 and the 1.5L bottled water be retailed at GHS3.50.
The bag of 500ml sachet water will be sold at GHS6.00 maximum from retail trucks and at GHS8.00 by mini shops.
