The leadership of the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has announced that they will go on a strike on Thursday 23rd December 2021 in the wake of the E-Levy taxation that has been imposed on electronic transactions by government.
According to the leaders of the association all outlets in the country will remained closed on Thursday.
This intention by the association was communicated to the general public through a statement from the association.
According to MMAAG, the strike is to register their displeasure towards the 1.75% tax that is being imposed on electronic transactions contained in the 2022 budget.
The association described the e-levy as ”very regressive” and ”critical to the survival of their business”.
