Farmers Day Remains One of Rawlings’ Lasting Legacies-Koku Anyidoho

An expelled member of the biggest opposition in Ghana, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has revealed that ‘Farmers Day’ celebration widely celebrated in the country was instituted by late President Jerry John Rawlings.

He made this revelation in a tweet as the country celebrates yet another edition of Farmers Day on 3rd December 2021.

The National Farmers Day which is celebrated annually on the first Friday of December in every is celebrated to mark and give recognition to farmers and fishers in the country for their hard work.

In a tweet he wrote; Papa J is gone: Farmers Day remains. Jerry John Rawlings instituted Farmers Day in 1985, and it remains one of his lasting legacies. Ayekooo to ALL our farmers and fishermen for keeping bodies and the soul of the nation alive. Long live Ghana.
