MoMo Tax Is Like Falling From Frying Pan To Fire-E.L Laments

Celebrated Ghanaian rapper, Elorm Adablah well known as E.L has described the government’s abolishment of toll collection and compensating it with a 1.75% E-Levy is like falling from frying pan to fire.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Wednesday, 17th November 2021, while presenting the 2022 budget metioned that government has decided to abolish toll collection but introducing E-Levy which will be imposed on all electronic transactions from GHS100 and beyond.

”We will not pay the road toll again but we will pay it in a different way and that’s even worse pass”, he said on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM.

”So we’re watching how we can survive that new E-Levy 1.75% since it’s coming very soon”. he stressed.

He mentioned that the E-Levy will drain people’s pockets so they will look for alternative means of making transactions.

”Now mobile money go claim all our money so now we have to find an alternative to momo cos charlie dem spoil momo”, he added.
