Four persons have reportedly died after a mining pit caved in at Abankeseso in the Western North region of Ghana.
Investigations conducted by the police indicates that the people were engaged in illegal mining and one of their pits they were working on trapped some of the people in and killing them in the process.
Four dead women were brought out from the pit by a rescue team that were using an excavator.
One of the women had her arm amputated after she was brought out from the pit.
The mortal remains of the women have since been deposited at the Sefwi Bibiani Government Hospital.
It’s unclear as to whether there are more people trapped in the pit.
