The Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta has finally reacted to rumours on he aspiring the flagbearer race of his party and subsequently run the 2024 presidential race.
Speaking to Paul Adom Otchere on 18th November 2021, he stated that he is satisfied to contribute his intellectual prowess to the success of Ghana as a whole.
He noted that certain people sometimes believe that it is their energies and intellects that takes them far in politics but he firmly believes that is the work of God.
“Sometimes, people believe that it’s their energies and their intellect that brought them in [politics] but I just firmly believe that the LORD needs you and gives you the energy to do a specific job and when you begin to mission-creep is when you shipwreck,” he stated.
Mr. Ofori-Atta mentioned that he is not interested in the presidency of Ghana but will do what God has purposed him to do.
“but what I believe He has purposed me to do which is to be technical [and] to use my brain and to support that”, he told Paul Adom-Otchere.
“I think we should all understand what our God-given attributes are and not stretch it beyond what He has not mandated us to do.”
He added that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will still be in office in 2025 owing to the polices the government has put in place.
