The heavy traffic congestion the Kasoa route is noted for has reduced drastically as government abolishes toll collection on all major roads in Ghana.
The Accra-Cape Coast route which is a traffic prone stretch after the directive by the Ministry of Roads and Highways for the cessation of the collection of road and bridge toll natiowide has seen a flow of traffic.
Despite the traffic government abolishing the toll collection, pinaxnews.com upon visiting the area observed that motorists who use the stretch slow down a bit with the intent of making payment the later realize it is vacant.
”I think this new development is a very good move. We no longer have to waste time in queues. I believe this will lessen the traffic situation here.”
”I must confess this is really a good idea. The bus I was in didn’t have to waste time queuing to pay tolls as has been the practice,” – A Commuter said.
Meanwhile some hawkers on the stretch have complained about the toll abolishment affecting their business drastically.
