Government Looking At Installing Over 10,000 CCTV Cameras By End of Year-Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Member of Parliament Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced that government is looking at installing over 10,000 CCT Cameras by the end of 2021.

According to as part of the gigilization initiative led by Vice President Dr. Bawumia, government will see to it that over 10,000 CCTV cameras are installed nationwide.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, he mentioned that the move is part of government’s way of fighting crime in Ghana since it goes along way to expose pepertrators.

Citing a typical example of how CCTV camera helps in fighting crime, he narrated how a CCTV camera in a house close to the hostel of some Canadian students who were kidnapped back in 2019 helped in fishing out criminals.

Surprisingly he mentioned that even in his constituency, Ofoase-Ayirebi, there are cameras everywhere, and so whenever there is a disturbance or chaos it will help the police in bringing peace and order.

Meanwhile a video indicating that Kennedy Agyapong is doing fine has stormed social media after news of him suffering from stroke went viral.
