I Was Whisked Away By Police And Given Cover At Police Station-MP Agyei Anwhere Narrates

Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Agyei Anwhere who was reportedly beaten yesterday when a disturbance erupted after the MCE nominee for Juaben was rejected a second time by the assembly members has admitted to being beaten by some thugs.

He strongly believes the thugs were sent by the Juaben MCE nominee, Mr. Alexander Sarfo Kantanka who was rejected on 1st November 2021 although he has no problems with him.

He narrated that he was whisked away by the police from the Juaben Municipal Assembly where the confirmation exercise was taking place.

”I was whisked away by the police and given cover at the police station for some time; I had to be escorted into my car by five senior police officers before I was able to leave the town”, he noted.

He stated emphatically that it was the MCE nominee who sent the thugs to beat him up.

”I know for sure that they were sent by the nominee to beat me up; I can’t tell why he did that because I have no problem with him. I went there only as an observer for the Ashanti Parliamentary Caucus so there was no way that I could have influenced the outcome of the elections”, Hon. Agyei Anwhere stated in an interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM.

Meanwhile reports making the rounds is that the rejected MCE nominee Mr. Alexander Sarfo Kantanka gave the assembly members some money to vote for him and after they rejected him he is demanding for his money.
