The Police has denied reports of some officers storming the Believers’ House of Prayer Ministries located in Madina to arrest Member of Parliament for the constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu for interrogation.
According to the police in a statement issued on Sunday, 31st November 2021, any plain-clothed personnel found on the premises of the church were there for intelligence purpose and not to effect an arrest.
The head pastor of the Church, Bishop Chris Ablordey who spoke with pressmen stated that the policemen intimidated him with claims that they were at the Church to arrest the Member of Parliament for investigation.
The police has disclosed that so far three persons have been interrogated in relation to the demonstration that took place last Monday at Ayi Mensah.
The police went on to say that attempt to get the MP to allow himself to be interrogated wasn’t successful after he cited Parliamentary privilege.
“we shall continue to use every legal means to interrogate all other suspects including the Honourable MP for Madina”, the police further stated.
