Honourable Avail Yourself For Interrogation-Police Tells Francis-Xavier Sosu

The police has called on the member of Parliament for Madina Francis Xavier Sosu to humbly avail himself to the police for interrogation.

Police are after the MP for allegedly involving himself in a protest in his constituency which led to the unlawful blockade of roads and destruction of properties in the area but he has refused to appear before th epolice for interrogation.

According to reports the roads that were blocked led to chaos in the area and the MP allegedly asked his driver to dangerously speed through the crowd.

In an interview on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo show, the Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori noted that the police will make good use of all legal means to summon the MP for interrogation.

But, to him, ”as an honourable Member of Parliament, he (Francis-Xavier Sosu) should honourably avail himself to Police authority to question him on the issue because the Public Order law enjoins him to do that”.

” . . if he doesn’t come, we have several options. Even what the Hon. Speaker wrote citing some clauses, the Police is likely to go to the Apex Court to seek interpretation to guide our future security operations of the kind. We can also go to court to present him with summons and if he refuses to come and the court issues bench warrant”, then they will take him, he asserted.

The ACP assured the MP that nobody will do anything to him if he presents himself.
