Your Main Duty Is Creating Of Jobs As Government-Kofi Amoah Fires Ofori-Atta

Ghanaian businessman Dr. Kofi Amoah has said that creating jobs in Ghana is the responsibility of the government of the day.

His comment comes following the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta encouraging graduating students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to engage in entrepreneurship since government payroll is full.

He went on to say that the youth will have no excuse not to engage in entrepreneurship because government has provided an enabling environment for that.

According to the Finance Minister government spends 60% of revenues accrued to pay salaried stating that it is not sustainable.

However Dr. Kofi Amoah says government has failed to create jobs for the youth because of it’s inefficient use of the state’s resources.

”Abandoned projects such as the Komenda Sugar factory among others can be means of reducing unemployment in the country. In the long run it can boost Ghana’s economy and possibly make her a leading producer of sugar”, he suggested.
