The leader of the separatist group in the Volta region of Ghana, Homeland Study Group Foundation is dead.
Reports indicates that Papavi died on Saturday 16th October 2021 at the Keta Government Hospital.
Prior to his death the 88-year-old and his group demanded the succession of the erstwhile Western Togoland which includes parts of Oti, Volta Region and the North-East Region of Ghana.
Together with some members of his group they were arrested for treason but he was later granted bail as a result of his age.
After hiding for several months, the octogenarian was rearrested.
The police noted that it gathered enough evidence including a constitution, national emblem and anthem that was prepared by the eight people who got arrested by the police.
His trail was adjourned to October 22, 2021. Until his demise he was never seen or heard.
