Ace broadcast journalist who is host of ”Kokrokoo” show on Peace FM, Kwami Sefa Kayi has asked the youth in Ghana not to misuse social media or allow social media to make them go wayward.
During a graduation ceremony at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) ‘Chairman General’ pointed to the youth of Ghana on the impact of social media.
Addressing a gathering at the UPSA 13th congregation ceremony, as the Guest Speaker the renowned journalist encouraged the graduates to use social media wisely as a tool to open better opportunities for themselves.
”What do you use your internet for? What do you use social media for? Is social media a tool for sensationalism for you? Is it a tool for excitement for you? Is it a tool that you’re going to do to research, to build yourself, to improve yourself, to acquire more knowledge than what you have today?”, he asked.
He went on to advised the youth not to use the internet in a way that will negatively affect their lives.
”As the saying, the internet never forgets. The internet is good but it also has its dangerous sides. I entreat all of you today to begin to look or to rethink your relationship with social media, with the internet…it will always serve as a ready tool or a ready source of information. Be careful what you put there; be careful what you look out for there. Be careful what you find there!”, he stated.
