The Communication Director for the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has finally admitted that the ruling New Patriotic Party won the 2020 election after the party headed to court over the verdict of the Electoral Commission on the 2020 election.
According to Sammy Gyamfi the EC and the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo capitalized on the mistakes of the NDC to win the 2020 election .
Based on his submission he has admitted that the NDC lost the 2020 election and not as it earlier indicated.
”But for the fact that we made certain mistakes which the NPP capitalized on with the help of Jean Mensa led Electoral Commission, we would have won power” he stated while speaking on Metro TV in an interview hosted by Bridget Otoo.
Asked about the kind of mistakes the NDC made he noted that Metro TV isn’t the platform to discuss the party’s mistakes but he believe the party could have been more vigilant with how the ballot boxes were policed.
”This is not the platform to discuss that but I believe that we could have been more vigilant with how we policed the ballot boxes particularly at the polling stations where I believe a lot of stuffing too place”, he said.
He added that the NDC has learnt lessons from the 2020 election and will be vigilant in future.
