I’M Disappointed In Ejura Committee Report-Sammy Gyamfi

The National Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has expressed disappointment in the report of Committee set aside to investigate the chaos of Ejura.

The Committee after its sitting recommended the immediate transfer of the District Police Commander of Ejura DSP Philip Kojo Hammond, following his incompetence in handling the Ejura case and also over the fact that his relationship with Ejura community members is broken beyond measure.

It also recommended the structural expansion of Ejura Police Station and an increased in personnel and the removal of the Ejura Sekyedumasi Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba because his continuous presence will heat up the already heated security in the area.

It also recommended adequate compensation for the families of the two dead persons in the persons of Abdul Nasir Yusif and Murtala Suraj Mohammed. The committee also recommended adequate compensation be given to injured persons namely; Lois Aykpa, aged 20, Awal Misbau aged 16, and Nasif Nuhu aged 30.

However Sammy Gyamfi says the committee should have recommended a sanctions that should be given to the military men who murdered some locals.

Speaking on Okay FM, Mr. Gyamfi couldn’t fathom on why those who ordered the military men to go to Ejura weren’t given any sanction at all.
