Report picked up by Pinaxnews.com indicates that former NASCAR driver John Wes Townley has passed on at 31 years old.
As per the report gathered, Townley and a yet-to-be identified 30-year-lady were shot in Athens, Georgia, on Saturday, October 2. ACCPD representative Lt. Shaun Barnett told the Athens Banner-Herald that Athens-Clarke County police reacted to a shooting at Morton Avenue in the Five Points area not long before 9pm on Saturday.
Townley passed on at the clinic because of his wounds, while the 30-year-odl lady is in a serious condition and battling for her life, as indicated by Barnett.
Police have addressed the shooter, who knew the victims in question. The shooting seemed, by all accounts, dometic violence related, Athens-Clarke County Police Lt. Shaun Barnett said.
No charges have been documented and the examination proceeds, Barnett said.
Townley dashed eight seasons and made 186 starts across the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series, NASCAR’s lower two national divisions. His triumph in the Truck Series at Las Vegas six years prior Sunday was the main public series win of his profession.
Townley drove a vehicle which belonged to his dad, who was a fellow benefactor of the vehicle’s essential support, eatery network Zaxby’s.
