A fire service personnel has died while trying to rescue three people from drowning in a well at Gomoa Obuasi in the Central region of Ghana.
Assistant Station Officer Joseph Aidoo who has passed on sadly was with the Agona Swedru Fire Service prior to his demise.
According to witness, on Friday some three persons were working on a well but mistakenly fell inside leaving community members to fall on the assistance of the Fire Service.
In an attempt to save the three people in the well one of the fire officers got drowned in the process and died.
The three people who were trapped were later rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment but the mortal remains of the officer has been deposited at the Agona Swedru Hospital morgue.
The incident has been reported for investigation at Agona Swedru police station.
