The former member of Parliament for Kpone Katamanso, Hopeson Adorye has asserted the the #fixthecountry movement which gained much recognition in the country few weeks ago lacks a sense of direction.
According to him it is too generalized for the campaigners to be calling for the country to be fixed since it doesn’t come by easily.
He opined that fixing a country is a process that needs time to be realized.
Hopeson noted that it will be wise for the campaigners to choose what the government to fix exactly so that pressure can be mounted on that sector to get things fixed.
”There is a need for them to choose what exactly they want to be fixed by the government. So if they say the government should fix the roads, then there is pressure on that sector to get all roads fixed. But if you say fix the country what should we fix? If fixing the country at a goal was achievable, there was someone in power for eight years before we came so didn’t that government fix the country”, he stated in an interview in the United States of America.
He mentioned that all those behind the #fixthecountry campaign are doing a disservice to Ghanaians owing to the fact that there is no focus as far as the group is concerned.
