John Mahama Must Apologize Over ‘Do or Die Comment’-Says Charles Bissue

The Western Regional Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Charles Bissue has asked former President Mahama to retract and apologize over his ‘do or die’ comment.

This comes after many Ghanaians condemned former President Mahama’s comment on Techiman-based Akina Radio that 2024 polls will be a do or die affair for the NDC.

Mr. Bissue strongly believes that if such a comment will come from someone Mahama is the last person who should be dreaming of such comment haven been at the frontline of the country’s affair.

He noted that John Mahama’s comment is a reckless one and he needs to apologize to Ghanaians over the comment made.

“But he’s been at the helm of our political affairs before and you now see his people associating it with the coup that happened in Guinea. It’s not right for him to say that. Whatever he says carries weight,” Mr. Bissue stated on Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday.

“It’s the most reckless comment I’ve ever heard coming from the former president, John Mahama. All the other comments and attempts by his party executives make it even more laughable. I think the former president should rethink his decision and calling it an idiomatic expression”, he added.
