”I Was Never Happy At Arsenal”- Willian Finally Opens Up On What He Went Through At The Club After Terminating His £220k Per Week Contract

Ex-Chelsea star ‘Willian’ has finally opened up on his troublesome Arsenal spell which constrained him to end his agreement.

The sensational Brazilian winger marked a three-year contract, worth £220,000 per-week, with Arsenal the previous summer in the wake of leaving Chelsea on a free transfer yet neglected to satisfy hopes.

Willian oversaw only one goal and five assists in 37 games across all rivalries in the 2020-2021 season. He didn’t play in any of Arsenal’s initial three rounds of this season before the club ended his agreement by shared assent on August 30,2021.

The Brazilian has since returned to Corinthians in Brazil, where he began his vocation. With his transition to the Brazilian club currently affirmed, Willian has stood up on his battles at Arsenal.

The move finished Willian’s 8-year stay in England, where he won two Premier League titles, FA Cup crown, and the 2018-19 Europa League while with the blues.

This is what he had to say;

”I really thought a lot, together with my family and close people. Unfortunately, my time at Arsenal was not good, I wasn’t happy at the club. I don’t need to go into details, but I wasn’t happy and I thought that returning tp Brazil was the best option.

I studied some other opportunities, but I wanted to return to Corinthians, to my home, to be close to my family. It’s the club that projected me to the world, revealed me. The right time to come back was this.”
