The member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has disclosed that he won’t contest as MP for his constituency again after the 8th Parliament comes to an end.
Kennedy Agyapong has said that he is taking a bow from being the MP for the area to allow other people the chance to pursue their political career and to also help bring development in the constituency.
Speaking at Assin Fosu during the NPP’s annual Delegates Conference Kennedy made his intentions known.
I’m doing a lot for my people but a whopping 42 per cent of the electorates in the 2020 polls think I’m not doing well, so I’m leaving but would wait patiently to see if any MP can do what I did.”
“Even if I’m given 1,000 cows, I will not go back because I want the people to know that I am fighting for their wellbeing and not myself as an MP,” he stated.
He comment clearly tells that Mr. Agyapong isn’t doing it only to allow others to also serve but to let his constituents realize the good work he did for them while in office.
He pointed that during the 2020 general elections a whooping 42% of voters in his area believed he wasn’t doing well enough and so its time he leaves.
