A 37-year-old taxi driver identified as Daniel Ofori has been sentenced to two years imprisonment and banned for five years from driving by the Koforidua Circuit court B for driving at tough speed while a police officer of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) hanged on the bonnet.

The court was presided over by her Honour Mercy Addei Kotei.

The driver was said to have done that just to escape arrest.

The video has been trending on social media since it hit the web.

The fact presented to the court by the prosecutor, Inspector Gershon Defiamakpor was that the Taxi driver was on the wanted list of the MTTD for running away after committing a road traffic offense.

The incident was said to have occurred on February, 28 2020 where the taxi driver was driving a Toyota Corolla taxi from Koforidua heading towards Adweso but was spotted by a Community Protection Assistance who was on duty at Gallaway trafic on the said date.

He was then asked to stop by two MTTD officers Sergeant Asante Peprah and Corporal Ofei Konadu to stop and park but instead he tried to run over them and run off.

Sergeant Asante Peprah jumped unto the bonnet for safety yet the driver still drove off with the policeman on the bonnet.
