The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne has descended heavily on UTAG over their disobedience regarding the injunction by an Accra High Court forcing them to bring their strike to an end.
He made this comment following the refusal of UTAG to bring their strike to an end despite the National Labour Commission securing an injunction to stop UTAG from their strike action.
The UTAG President, Charles Marfo has said that their lawyers are going to court which indicates that a new ballgame has started.
chastise him without empathizing with him; I am empathetic of him,” he stated.
“We were almost reaching a consensus until the government’s court issue arose. Now, a whole new ballgame has started because we’re also asking our lawyers to go to court . . . We were getting there. We were pushing; now this argument I’m making is lost,” he started.
Sam Pyne says UTAG disobeying court ruling is a bad example.
Every legal defiance isn’t positive. We must respect the rulings and verdicts of courts”, Sam Pyne noted.
“If those who are intellectuals do something like this, what example are they leaving for those who resort to violence?” he quizzed.
