Speaker of Parliament’s Dispatch Rider Dies In Accident At Juaso

A dispatch rider with the Speaker of Parliament’s convoy, Chief Inspector Abednego Kaakyire has died in an accident at Juaso.

The 45-year-old police officer’s motorbike got crashed into by a private car on Friday 6th August 2021 while he was escorting the advanced team of the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin ahead of his visit to the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Reports indicates that the Speaker’s convoy got involved in an accident with two cars articulator car which was carrying teak but being followed by a Toyota Camry that was heading towards Accra from Kumasi and a private car at Juaso.

According to police report, the private car attempted to overtake the articulator car when they were almost at the Asante Akyim Municipality and the articulator driver signaled the driver of the private car that there is a convoy approaching them but he kept overtaking and subsequently crashed into the dispatch rider, killing him.

Two passengers of the private car have been injured and rushed to the hospital.

The body of the dispatch rider has also been at the Juaso mortuary.
