As per report picked up by our outfit, Police in the United Kingdom have officially arrested 11 individuals regarding the online racial maltreatment of three Black English football players following England’s performance in the Euro 2020 last month.
Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho were focused on after they missed penalty kicks in a shootout with Italy which settled the game after the actual match ended at a 1-1 draw.
The occurrence provoked a police examination after hefty judgment from a few footballers. The UK Football Policing Unit disclosed that 207 posts via online media were recognized as criminal, of which 123 records have a place with people abroad and 34 from the United Kingdom.
”There are people out there who believe they can hide behind social media profile and get away with posting such abhorrent comments. They need to think again. We have investigators proactively seeking out abusive comments in connection to the matcg and, if they meet a criminal threshold, those posting them will be arreested.
Our investigation is continuing at pace and we are grateful for those who have taken time to report racists posts to us”.
