Despite Ravages Of Covid-19, Ghana Is Slowly But Surely Making A Recovery-Annoh Dompreh

Lawmaker and member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Annoh Dompreh has said that despite the covid-19 crisis hitting Ghana, the country is slowly but gradually making a recovery.

Hon. Dompreh made this comment in a tweet on 29th July 2021 after Ghana’s finance minister read the mid-year budget.

”The Mid-Year Budget Review demonstrates clearly that despite the ravages of COVID-19, Ghana is slowly but surely making a recovery. The 1M Jobs Initiative & GHc 100 billion GhanaCARES programme will be key in stimulating SMEs & sustainable growth for our country”, he stated in a tweet.

Presenting the mid-year budget before Parliament, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta noted that for the first time ever in the fourth republic the exchange rate did not see a spike after an election year.

“For the first time in the fourth republic the exchange rate did not see a spike after an election year.

“Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year to date the exchange rate has depreciated by 0.6 per cent against the US dollars and appreciating by 3.6% against the Euro”, the finance minister stated.

The finance minister further told Parliament that he has not come to ask for more taxes but to update Parliament on the performance of Ghana’s economy.
