For The First Time Ever, Legon Gets First Female Vice Chancellor

Legon has inaugurated its new constituted Council and for the first time ever, a woman has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor in University of Ghana.

The new Vice Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah was appointed by the newly constituted Council of the school.

Prior to this appointment she was the Pro-Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs (ASA).

Before her appointment Prof Ebenezer Oduro Owusu was the Vice Chancellor.

The Council in a short meeting after its inauguration on 26th July 2021, considered Section 10(2)(b) of the University of Ghana Act, 2010, Act 806, and Section 6(3) of the University of Ghana Statutes and came under a consensus to appoint the senior of the two Pro-Vice Chancellors to act.
