Covid-19: Ghana To Use Celebrities And Chiefs To Campaign

Director of Public Health for the Ghana Health Service, Franklin Asiedu-Bekoe has disclosed that Ghana is going to use celebrities, influencers and high profile chiefs to campaign about the need to adhere to the covid-19 protocols especially wearing nose mask.

According to him the time is here for the need for the afore mentioned to be adopted in order to instill that mindset in people to help curb the spread of the virus.

Speaking on Tv3’s ‘Key Points’ on Saturday 24th July 2021, he stated that his outfit is going to have a very heightened campaign on promoting nose mask wearing as well as its enforcement because most Ghanaians don’t wear the mask and the few that wears it too take it off.

He mentioned that the enforcement of nose mask is going to be done at different levels.

“When you are going to sit in commercial transport (trotro) the station master must ensure that you have a mask before you sit, when you are going to the super market they must ensure you have the mask,” he stated.

Meanwhile the virus is on the rise in Achimota Senior High School which has led tothe school going on lockdown for a while.
