You Have Gotten It Right This Time-Okudzeto Ablakwa Praises Nana Akufo-Addo On Appointment of COP Dampare As Acting IGP

Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency has applauded President Nana Akufo-Addo for appointing COP George Akuffo Dampare as the acting Inspector General of Police.

The member of Parliament who usually disagrees with the President as far as decisions that relates to steering the affairs of the country has said that Nana Akufo-Addo has got it right this time by appointing a noble man as COP Dampare to occupy the position of IGP.

The MP who is concerned about the growing insecurity in Ghana, speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Adeakye Abia’ show, said the spate of insecurity in Ghana needs a hard-working police officer to steer the affairs of the police service in order to ensure safety in the country.

He seized the opportunity to congratulate COP Dampare on his appointment.

“I want to congratulate the new acting IGP for picking up the mantle, but he must lace his boots to the daunting task ahead.”

“This is the time you have to ensure the safety and welfare of your men and women in service and help ensure basic amenities to aid them in combating crime in the country,” he stated.

“However, having known the senior police officer and his capabilities I believe he is more than qualified to do the work.

“I believe this time around the President got it right in appointing COP Dampare to act as the new acting IGP,” Hon. Ablakwa added.
