Latest report gathered from the world of boxing indicates that Anthony Joshua will defend his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles against compulsory challenger Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Anthony Joshua was expecting to battle for the last belt in an undisputed bout with WBC champion Tyson Fury this late spring, however things did not go as planned following Deontay Wilder’s arbitration victory.
Tyson Fury will currently confront Deontay Wilder again on October 9. Subsequently, the WBO requested AJ to defend against Usyk.
This is what AJ had to say: ”The date is set and we are fully locked in. 25 September, 2021, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, I put it all on the line again and it’s time to defend my crown. We are Olympic gold medalits who have fought our way to yhe top and never avoided challenges.
The stadium is exceptional, the atmosphere will be electric, I’m honoured to be the first person to fight in such an awe-inspiring venue. The stage is set and I am ready to handle business”
