Cooperate With Police On Patrol Duties-DCOP Kwarteng Urges The Public

Crime is on the rise in Ghana leaving many Ghanaians in fear. This has led to the Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Oduro-Kwarteng calling on travelers to cooperate with police patrols plying their route.

According to the DCOP he and his men do not take delight in wasting the precious time of travelers but sometimes their work demands that they search thoroughly.

”We do not take delight in wasting the precious time of the traveling public but sometimes we need to go the extra mile in our search”, he stated.

Citing a typical example of police taking their time to search thoroughly he mentioned three who were arrested on the Kpando-Have road of which police found foreign manufactured pistols that were hidden in their car. He stated that had it not that the police took the pain to search well, these men would have gone away with the weapons.

He mentioned the prolong search is usually in the interest of the public.

He added that the fight against crime in the country needs collective effort hence the need for the public to assist the police in executing its duties.
