Maverick lawmaker and member of Parliament for Temale Central constituency, Murtala Mohammed is of the view that outspoken law maker Kennedy Agyapong wouldn’t have been walking freely in any country where it’s democracy is serious.
He made this comment after a colleague lawmaker, Alhassan Suhuyini raised the attention of the House on Wednesday to the misconduct of Mr. Agyapong over his threat against Erastus Asare Dokor.
Mr. Alhassan said he felt obliged to raised the issue in Parliament because of his past journalistic background.
Mr. Agyapong was said to have threatened to beat the journalist mercilessly if he were the President for carrying out his journalistic duties during the Ejura chaos that claimed the lives of two men.
The Temale Central MP believes his colleague has misconducted himself for far too long and should have been dealt with by the laws of the country yet he walks a free man..
Reacting to Kennedy Agyapong’s threat against the journalist on Joy TV on Thursday he said; to be very honest..in a serious democracy that man should not be a free man walking. I think our democracy deserves better”, he added.
