The Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said he felt sorry when he heard that Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong was made the Chairperson of the Defence and Interior Committee in Parliament owing from his attitude as an individual in recent times.
Speaking on Metro TV’s ‘Good morning Ghana’ show on Thursday 15th July 2021, he said no member of Parliament has the right to issue threats against a fellow citizen or journalist in any democratic regime.
I don’t know what went into it for members of Parliament to do so and I don’t want to sound too personal but I felt really sorry when I heard he was the Chair of such a sensitive position.
He stressed that it appears the member of Parliament has more information which isn’t yet in the public space and for that reason the agency responsible for investigating the Ejura incident must invite him to assist the investigation.
He further said that if he doesn’t voluntarily show up to help with the investigation then he must brought there on the law and dealt with.
”Let’s get to the core of the matter, he appears to have some information in my opinion of dubious validity but it is out in the public space so it is for the agency of the state that is responsible for for investigating that incident, that gruesome assassination of a journalist to invite him”.
”If he won’t come voluntarily then bring him there on the law and deal with him there on that matter”. He stated.
