The family of hawker, Joyce Afua Amankwa who was shot dead on Monday June 14 during a bullion van robbery by armed men at Adedenkpo-Jamestown in Accra is disappointed in the police and government.
The family of the deceased family have expressed disappointment in the police and government over the manner it has treated the widower and the three children the late Mrs. Amankwa left behind.
On July 14, 2021 two non-governmental organizations-Ghana Advocacy Group (GAG) and Aim Ghana in collaboration donated some food items and toiletries to the family, and the spokesperson of the family Pastor Emmanuel Owusu seize the opportunity to complain in an interview.
He bemoaned how the government and the police have abandoned working on seeking justice for the dead since it last sent a delegation to console the family during the one week observation.
The widower, Gamaliel Apau also expressed disappointment in the bank and government for leaving he and his kids to their fate.
”I am disappointed in the government, disappointed in the police and also the financial institution whose bullion van was attacked and the fact that the government has failed to publicly identify the bank.”
During the bullion van attack on Monday 14th June 2021, a police officer Emmanuel Osei was also shot dead.
