Kaaka’s Family Makes U-turn; Will Appear Before The Committee Despite Earlier Boycot

The family of late social media activist Ibrahim Mohammed well known as Macho Kaaka who was murdered by some assailants while on his way home around 1:30 am on 27th June have made a quick U-turn on its earlier decision not to appear before the Justice Koomson Committee probing the matter.

Earlier statement from the family of Kaaka signed by the family’s spokesperson Nafiu Mohammed alerted the Interior Minister that it will not testify before the 3-member Committee that is investigating the Ejura disturbance.

They made this statement on Thursday 8th July 2021 where it indicated that after monitoring the committee’s sitting for the past few days it doesn’t have the confidence in the committee’s ability to give them the justice they want.

The family went on to say that some comments from the committee members have exposed their bias as far as the issue is concerned.

”We the family of Ibrahim Mohammed alias Kaaka regret to officially notify you of our decision not to participate in the ongoing public inquisition which is purportedly concerned with the circumstances that led to the unfortunate occurrences on Tuesday”, the statement stated.

Despite their earlier position, some members of the family including Kaaka’s mother, his wife and two of his daughters on Monday 12th July 2021 joined some of the relatives of the deceased at the venue of the Committee’s sitting.
