The 3-member Committee set by the Interior Minister Ambrose Derry under the orders of President Nana Addo to investigate the unfortunate incident which occurred on 29th June 2021 that claimed the lives of 2 men will resume sitting today, 12th July 2021.
The Committee resumes on Monday and it happens to be the 5th day of sitting since the probing of the Ejura incident began.
So far 11 witnesses have appeared before the Committee which includes the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP David Agyeman Adjem, Ejura Municipal Police Commander, DSP Philip Kojo Hammond, Brigadier General Joseph Aphour, MCE for Ejura Mohammed Salisu Bambam, Lieutenant Colonel Kweku Ware Peprah.
Meanwhile families of the deceased in a statement refused to appear before the Committee stating that they have no confidence in the Committee to give them the justice they need.
However reports making rounds is that the family of Murtala Mohammed, one of the deceased persons may appear before the Committee despite the earlier statement where they boycotted the Committee.
