Ashanti Region: Fetish Priest Involved In Murder Of Uber Driver Wanted

A Fetish Priest identified as ‘Black Akasha’ is reported to be a suspect in the murder of an Uber driver Israel Agyei Manu who was killed at Feyiase-Akoyem in the Ashanti Region.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is currently in search of the Fetish Priest as he is reported to be a key suspect in the murder.

After the beheaded boy of the Uber driver was found at Feyiase-Akoyem in the Bosomtwe District on 4th July the Police began an investigation which led to the arrest of three suspects.

The three suspects, Rashid Ibrahim, 32, an assistant to the Fetish Priest, Richard Addai, 35 and Anthony Sekum 22 have been arraigned before court and charged with murder and abetment.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Bosomtwe District Police Command, DSP Eric Akwaboa has said that the police is wanted because he is a key suspect in the murder.

He narrated that Rashid, one of the accused persons in November 2020 saw Akasha the Fetish Priest advertising on television and asking interested people who want to be rich to come to his shrine.

Rashid then went to the Fetish Priest’s shrine and was asked to pay an amount of 900 cedis.

DSP Akwaboa further said that upon incantations, the Fetish Priest told Rashid to bring a human head after which he will make him rich.

Desperate Rashid who wanted to execute his mission hired the Uber driver to Feyiase-Akoyem but upon reaching there he asked the driver to help him pick his speakers from the nearby bush and he killed him and beheaded him along the way.
