His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indirectly lashed out at former President John Dramani Mahama over the development of certain interchanges in the country.
As per President Akufo-Addo, his administration is building three exchanges with a whopping amount of $289 million, while the past Mahama led administration constructed just one interchange with practically a similar amount of money.
President Akufo-Addo made the statement when he finally commissioned the four-level Pokuase Interchange on Friday, July 9, 2021.
This is what he had to say; ”It is important to put on record that the original design for the Pokuase interchange was for a 3-tier intercahnge, however through efficient management by my government the interchange was modified to a 4-tier interchange within the same contract sum.
Indeed, $289 million has been used by the Akufo-Addo government to construct 3 interchanges at Pokuase, Obetsebi Lamptey, and Tamale as opposed to the $260 million used by the Mahama government to construct only the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange. These are further examples of the fact that we in the NPP are good protectors of the public purse.”
Speaking at the commissioning of the interchange, President Akufo-Addo utilized the chance to speak to drivers to hold fast to all street security measures to guarantee the protected utilization of the facility.
”I appeal to the users of this facility, especially drivers, to adhere to the various road safety measures put in place for the safe use of the facility. The modernization of Ghana is steadily gathering momentum, and I entreat all Ghanaians to join hands in building the Ghana we want”.
