The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Peter Boamah Otokunor has asked the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to review his ‘authoritarian tendencies’ which continues to hurt the democracy and security of the country.
Mr. Otokunor in an interview at the NDC’s March for Justice demonstration on Tuesday July 6th 2021, said Ghana’s security is fast deteriorating and there is a need for the President to act urgently to fight against ‘state-sponsored aggression’.
”We are fighting against state-sponsored killings and murder in Ghana as well as suffering in the country. The large number of people here to protest should tell a message to the President”, he stated.
He stressed that the turnout of people in their numbers to demonstrate should send a wake up call to the President for him to review the authoritarian tendencies that he has brought upon the coutries democracy.
The NDC staged a demonstration on Tuesday July 6th 2021 in reaction to the recent brutalities meted on innocent citizens in Ghana by security personnel.
