IGP Pays Visit To Family Of Police Officer Killed In Bullion Van Robbery

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh has paid a visit to the family of police officer who was murdered during a broad day light robber near Jamestown, a suburb of Accra.

Constable Emmanuel Osei belonged to the National SWAT team, and was murdered in cold blood by armed robbers who attacked a bullion van at James Town, Accra on Monday 14th June, 2021.

The IGP paid the visit with members of the Police Management Board and he pledged to the family of the deceased that the Police Administration will resolve to bring the criminals to book.

The Police Service used the occasion to introduce the appointed police-family liaison officer for arrangements towards the burial of the officer. A psychologist has also been assigned to them.

Meanwhile the police has placed a bounty on the criminals who robbed the bullion van that was transferring money, killing a police officer and a hawker in the process.
