Inspector General of Police(IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has clapped back at security analyst who have raised concerns regarding how the police is handling the increased crime in Ghana stating they don’t know what they are talking about.
“We are doing what we can to protect the people of Ghana. There is no society in the world where there is no crime. Even in the USA, UK and Sweden, where they, more or less have everything, they still have crime. The only place that doesn’t have crime is heaven and we are not in heaven,” James Oppong-Boanuh told journalists after visiting the family of the officer who was slain in the James Town Bullion Van attack on Monday.
He noted that if any so-called security analyst is telling the police that they are not on top of their game then they don’t know what they are talking about.
Meanwhile the IGP has directed banks to get fortified bullion vans in carting their money by the end of June this year. He added that if the banks fail to do so the Ghana police service will withdraw from escorting their bullion vans.
